Dahle Named San Diego Hall of Champions Star of the Month

SAN DIEGO - UC San Diego women’s volleyball player Danielle Dahle (La Mesa/Grossmont HS) has been named a Star of the Month for December by the San Diego Hall of Champions.

On Dec. 11, Dahle earned First Team All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for her performance over the 2013 season, becoming UCSD's first first-team selection since 2009.

A sophomore outside hitter, Dahle played a significant role in helping the Tritons earn a spot in the NCAA postseason for the eighth consecutive year. She led UCSD in several statistical categories, including kills (387), kills/set (3.25), attack attempts (1,182), points (434.0) and points/set (3.65). Over 32 matches, Dahle recorded 15 double-doubles and had at least 10 kills in 24 contests and 10 or more digs 18 times, while surpassing 500 career kills and 500 career digs. Her 1,182 attack attempts rank second on UCSD's single season top-10 list, while her 387 kills are ninth.

The La Mesa native also picked up AVCA All-West Region and All-California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team accolades in 2013.

Dahle is UCSD's fourth AVCA First Team All-American since the program moved to NCAA Division II status in 2000.

UCSD ended the season ranked 15th nationally with a 26-6 overall record.
