LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego's home softball series against Cal State Monterey Bay has been canceled due to the inclement weather in Southern California.
The four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series was originally scheduled for doubleheaders to be played on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, at Triton Softball Field.
Heavy rain washed out any chance to play Friday. Intermittent downpours have been prevalent Saturday morning and the forecast calls for rain to continue into Sunday.
No makeup has been scheduled for the series.
After playing its first 14 games of the season at home, UCSD will hit the road for its next eight contests. The Tritons play a four-game set at Sonoma State March 7-8 and travel to Cal State San Bernardino for another four March 14-15.
UCSD, which has won its last six games, is 12-2 overall and sits atop the CCAA standings with a 7-1 mark.
