Tejas Gulati - Fencing

Junior sabreur Tejas Gulati won a gold medal in the Senior Saber event at UC San Diego's 22nd annual Bladerunner tournament this past weekend at RIMAC Arena. The tourney's eighth seed, Gulati topped the 70-competitor field, which included a convincing, 15-6 victory over fifth-seeded Antonio Heathcock of Cardinal Fencing Club in the title bout. Born in India, he is a Biology major at UCSD's Revelle College.

Natalie Saddic - Soccer

Natalie Saddic led No. 3 UCSD to a record 11th CCAA Tournament title at home. The San Diego native anchored a 1-0 shutout over Cal State San Marcos in Friday’s semifinal, highlighted by a huge clearance off the goal line in the 63rd minute. In Sunday’s epic final against No. 23 Sonoma State, Saddic headed home the decisive goal with just 34 seconds left in regulation to give UCSD a 4-3 triumph. Already the CCAA Defensive Player of the Year, she added CCAA Tournament Most Valuable Defensive Player distinction.

Jonathan Sabouri - Soccer

Jonathan Sabouri produced his first hat trick to lead No. 18 UC San Diego to a come-from-behind 4-1 victory at Cal State East Bay last Thursday. His opener tied the game in the 40th minute, with two subsequent scores early in the second half. The hat trick, the first by a UCSD freshman in at least 30 years, and perhaps a program first, came within a span of just 12:02 around halftime. The Carlsbad native played only 37 minutes and had a game-high four shots. UCSD has stretched its unbeaten run to 11 games (8-0-3).

Micah Hammond - Volleyball

Micah Hammond recorded career-highs with 23 points, 19 kills and six blocks (two solos) to lead UCSD to a home win over Cal State Monterey Bay Friday. The junior middle blocker posted an impressive .607 hitting percentage by making just two errors in 28 attacks. The next night, Hammond totaled 14.5 points on 12 kills and four blocks in a five-set loss against Cal State East Bay. For the week, she averaged 4.2 points, 3.4 kills and 1.1 blocks while hitting .452. Hammond led the Tritons in attack percentage and blocking.

Adam Navigato - Golf

Adam Navigato won a tournament for the first time in his collegiate career, topping the 104-player field at the Otter Invitational. The sophomore finished with a tournament-record 199, 17 strokes under par after shooting rounds of 69, 65 and 65. His 199 beat the event’s previous best by nine strokes. A Solana Beach product (Torrey Pines HS), Navigato carded one eagle, 21 birdies and 26 pars with just six bogeys over 54 holes of play. It was the first win by a Triton since October of 2015. He was named the CCAA Golfer of the Week.

Jessica Rieble - Volleyball

Over two matches this past week, Jessica Rieble led UCSD in points (32), points/set (4.00), kills (25), kills/set (3.12), blocks (12) and blocks/set (1.50). The sophomore middle blocker hit .327 overall. At SF State, she posted a match-high 17.5 points with 13 kills and nine block assists. The nine blocks are the most by a Triton in a single match this season. At league-leading Sonoma State, Rieble totaled 14.5 points, 12 kills and three blocks (two solos). Nationally, she currently ranks 22nd in blocks/set (1.24) and 45th in total blocks (88).

Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt - Water Polo

Freshman Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt helped No. 12 UCSD win its fourth straight WWPA game last Thursday, beating California Baptist 13-8 on the road to remain undefeated in league play. The Newport Beach product had a team-best four points, scoring three goals and adding an assist, with a .429 shooting percentage, two steals and a field block. The performance marked his seventh hat trick of the season. The Tritons share first place in the WWPA with UC Davis, and host Air Force this Friday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m.

Amanda Colla - Volleyball

Over three CCAA matches, Amanda Colla led UCSD in kills (46), kills/set (4.2), attack percentage (.290), points (49), and points/set (4.5). The senior outside hitter established new career-highs with 24.5 points and 23 kills against league rival CSUSB. Both of those totals were also match-highs and the 23 kills were the most by a Triton in a contest since 2015. Against CPP, the Carlsbad native totaled match-highs with 19.0 points and 17 kills. Colla recorded two double-doubles, giving her a team-best 13 for the season.

Arman Momdzhyan - Water Polo

Senior Arman Momdzhyan scored a game-high five goals to lead No. 12 UC San Diego to its third win of the season against rival LMU on Friday, this time by a final of 12-8 in league action on the road, to remain undefeated at 3-0 in the WWPA. The effort marked a seventh hat trick in 2017 for the Glendale product. He finished with a .714 shooting percentage and tallied two steals. With the result, UCSD took over the top spot in the WWPA standings, awaiting another road date at CBU this Thursday night, Oct. 12.

Ella Verhees - Cross Country

Senior Ella Verhees took first place overall at the 25th annual Triton Classic on Saturday, lifting the Tritons to a second-place team finish with 58 points, just two behind No. 19 CPP. Verhees finished the race in 22:08.39, which was her fastest time of the season in a 6K competition. The San Diego native recorded her fourth consecutive top team finish, and it was the third time this season Verhees placed in the top 10 overall individually. Next up, Verhees will lead the Tritons into the CCAA Championships in Ceres on Oct. 21.

Jonathan Sabouri - Soccer

True freshman Jonathan Sabouri scored his first two college goals to lift UC San Diego to a come-from-behind, 2-1 victory in overtime over No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona at home on Friday night. The Carlsbad product first tapped in the rebound of a saved shot in the 70th minute to tie the game at 1-1. He then volleyed home the winner at 94:09 to cap a beautifully-executed free-kick sequence. The result moved the Tritons into second place in the CCAA. They went on to win Sunday's game over CSUSB as well, 1-0.

Angelica Ramos - Soccer

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Angelica Ramos kept a pair of shutouts as No. 7 UCSD posted two 1-0 victories to sweep the home weekend. She made two saves against second-place CPP on Friday, and four against Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday. One save in each contest was a big one. Ramos slapped a long-range effort off the post and away in the 83rd minute on Friday, and tipped a hard shot over the crossbar for a corner kick in the 78th on Sunday. Ramos now has seven individual clean sheets in 2017.

Nolan Mac - Soccer

Senior left back Nolan Mac produced a game-tying goal and played all 110 minutes of a shutout as UCSD collected four big points out of two tough CCAA road tests. The Laguna Hills native first notched his team-best third goal in the 80th minute for 1-1 at No. 19 Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, with the Tritons grabbing a shock winner in the 86th. UCSD then played to a scoreless draw at Cal State LA on Sunday. Mac had not scored over his first 35 appearances as a Triton, but has three in seven games in 2017.

Mary Reilly - Soccer

Junior forward Mary Reilly played a role in four of five scores as No. 10 UCSD swept its first road weekend and remained the only perfect side atop the CCAA. She first posted her fifth career multiple-goal game by bagging a brace in a 2-1 triumph at CSUDH on Friday night. The 52nd-minute decider was an incredible individual effort as the Chula Vista product dribbled through several Toro defenders. In Sunday's 3-0 win at Cal State LA, Reilly drew a penalty kick for the opener and assisted on the second.

Aren Johnson - Cross Country

Junior Aren Johnson finished in first place among all runners at Saturday's University of San Diego Invitational. Johnson crossed the line in 25-minutes, 20-seconds, which was a full 16 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The area product (Army and Navy Academy) lifted the Tritons to a second-place showing out of five teams in the event, behind only No. 2-ranked Stanford and ahead of host USD, Southwestern College and San Diego Christian. Johnson earned All-CCAA honors as a sophomore in 2016.

Jordyn McNutt - Soccer

Senior winger and team tri-captain Jordyn McNutt led No. 19 UC San Diego to a sweep of the first weekend of the CCAA season at home. The San Diego native out of University City High School assisted on the final goal of a 3-0 victory over Chico State on Friday night. McNutt then scored the only goal of the game, her first of the year, in the 28th minute of Sunday's 1-0 triumph over Stanislaus State. She now has 16 career goals and 31 assists, fifth all-time in program history. Her Tritons return home on Friday, Sept. 29.

Uly de la Cal - Soccer

Uly de la Cal had a goal and two assists as UCSD went 1-0-1 against West Region foes. The senior forward's first goal of the season was the overtime winner in a 2-1 victory at Azusa Pacific on Thursday. He had assisted on UCSD's early opener. On Saturday night, his long throw-in was headed in by Nolan Mac at 87:06 to bring the Tritons within one of Concordia Irvine. Just 30 seconds later, they had equalized from the penalty spot, with the match ending 2-2 to extend UCSD's home unbeaten streak to 18 matches.

Amanda Colla - Volleyball

Amanda Colla was again named to an all-tournament team, this time at the D2 West Region Showcase at Central Washington. As her Tritons went 3-1, the senior outside hitter averaged 4.0 points, 3.5 kills and 4.2 digs and recorded four double-doubles. Her point and kill averages were team-highs. Colla registered a career-high 22.0 points vs. Concordia (Ore.) and equaled career-bests with a match-high 19 kills and five blocks. Against Dixie State, Colla led all players with 16 points, 12 kills, 16 digs and three aces.

Pedro Enciso - Soccer

Pedro Enciso began his college career with a pair of individual shutouts as UC San Diego drew at Biola and topped Occidental at home, 3-0. The Tritons outshot the host Eagles on Thursday, 29-9, but Biola had arguably the three best chances to score on the night, with Enciso thwarting two of those in the first half. The Vista product out of Rancho Buena Vista High School finished with three saves, and added two on Saturday, keeping the opposition scoreless over the full 200 minutes. UCSD is back at home this Saturday at 7 p.m.

Amanda Colla - Volleyball

Amanda Colla was named to the Seaside Invitational All-Tournament Team at Point Loma for leading UCSD to a 3-1 start. The senior outside hitter averaged 3.9 points, 3.3 kills and 3.5 digs per set with five aces and seven blocks. Colla recorded a career-high 20.5 points in a five-set win over No. 4 Alaska Anchorage. She put away 18 kills - one short of her best - against the Seawolves and again in a win vs. Simon Fraser, both match-highs. Colla's 13 digs against APU and 15 against Point Loma led all players.
