AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008: Had a brilliant first season at UCSD, pacing the Tritons in all seven of the team’s events… Broke the tape in her first collegiate cross country meet, winning the season opener with Point Loma, USD, and UNLV… Clocked in with a time of 15:17.4 in the event, which was a new 2.5 mile course record… Also posted an individual win at the CSUSB Coyotes Invite, crossing the line with a time of 22:09 to pave the way for UCSD’s second team victory on the year… Finished seventh overall at the SDSU Aztec Invite, competing against a field of mostly Division I runners… Placed third at the CCAA Championships, completing the course with a time of 21:55.7… Earned an All-CCAA nod with the performance… Finished fifth at the NCAA West Regional, punching an individual ticket to the national championships with a final time of 21:44.2 on her home course… Earned USTFCCCA All-American honors after finishing 22nd overall at the national meet in Slippery Rock, Pa.… Battled wind, snow, and temperatures in the 20s to finish with a time of 22:19, which was UCSD’s highest finish since 2002.   

HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2007 graduate of nearby Carlsbad High School… Participated in cross country and track in high school… Was an all-league selection and the best distance runner on the squad… Went on to finish 12th in state individually… Personal bests include 2:21 in the 800m and 4:57 in the 1600m… Was also a team MVP in surfing as a prepster and competed with the Lightning and Express soccer clubs.

PERSONAL: Born May 12, 1989... Parents are Scott and Denise Schofield... Has an older sister named Ashley… Can be found surfing, going to the beach, or hanging out with friends when she’s not running… Roots for the Chargers and Padres… Olympian Kara Groucher is her favorite athlete… Mermaids and The Sweetest Thing top her movie list… Running in the NCAA Division II Championships in 22 degree weather, wearing bib No. 22, and finishing in 22nd place ranks as her top sporting memory… Is a Sociology major in Roosevelt College… Wants a career working with people, most likely in athletics.
