AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2009: Top finish in discus event came during CCAA Championships, placing fifth with distance of 127’11”… Another top ten finish in discus at San Diego City Championships, finishing seventh… 126’11” discus mark in All-Cal Championships good for 13, while 131’11” in event at Long Beach Invitational earned 37th place.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008: Placed 60th in the Discus Throw at the at the UCSD Triton Invitational with a distance of 38.30M... Placed eighth in the Discus Throw at the San Diego City Championships... At the All-Cal Challenge Cup finished 15th in the Discus Throw with a distance of 34.37M... Placed 17th in the Discus Throw at the Rossi Relays with a distance of 36.92M.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Esperanza High School in Anaheim, Calif... member of football and track and field teams... helped track team to Sunset League Championship during senior year... helped football team to league championship during senior year and Division I Finals during junior year... recorded statistical best of 145’ in the discus event.


PERSONAL: Born March 15, 1989... parents are Scoot and Carol Ward... has one older sister named Melissa... Melissa was starting pitcher on the UCSD softball team from 2005-08... a Political Science major in Marshall College... hobbies include camping, photography, and surfing.
