WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC San Diego's Mimi Hodgins has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of October 3-9.
Hodgins, a senior from Malibu, led the Tritons to a team championship of the UCSD Triton Classic on October 8 by finishing 1st out of 184 runners in the 6,000 meter race. She crossed the tape in 21:53.5, 22 seconds faster than the runner-up. Hodgins 5:50 per mile pace bested 37 NCAA Division I runners.
She and her teammates return to action on Saturday, October 22 at the CCAA Championships in San Francisco. Following that race the Tritons will take part in the NCAA West Regional on November 5 in Chino Hills, Calif.
