AS A JUNIOR IN 2004-05: Earned All-American status at the NCAA’s in the 200 IM (1:52.49) and the 400 IM (3:59.41)... the 200 IM time was the sixth fastest in UCSD history and the 400 IM time was the third fastest in school history... Baier also notched the top 200 breast time of the season at 2:06.58.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2003-04: One of two capatins for the 2004-05 season... two-time All-American owns personal bests in the 100 free (47.52), 200 free (1:43.93), 500 free (4:40.90), 200 IM (1:53.88), 400 IM (4:03.78), and 200 breast (2:07.80)... in 2003 qualified for six individual events at the NCAA Championships... 2002-03 TAC member.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Sonora HS where he was a member of the swimming, basketball, and soccer teams and won league titles on each squad... three-time All-League in swimming and two-time All-League on the soccer team.

PERSONAL: Born June 6, 1983 in Modesto, Calif.... parents are Rick and Patti... has two siblings, Brian and Katie... Katie is currently on the UCSD women’s swimming team... his uncle, Dave Scott, was a professional triathlete... Human Biology major with a Psychology minor in Muir College... hobbies include wakeboarding and rock climbing.
