AS A FRESHMAN IN 2009: Appeared in UCSD’s first two events before an injury kept him out the rest of the season… Was the Tritons’ top finisher and placed second overall in the team’s opener with an impressive time of 22:57.7.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate from San Luis Obispo High School, where he helped the cross country squad to four consecutive CIF appearances… The team also qualified for the state championships once and won three league titles while he was on the roster… Personal best in the 5k was 16:28… Was named the team’s Black and Gold athlete (highest scorer) as a junior and senior… Also competed in track and field at SLOHS.

PERSONAL: Born July 13, 1991… Parents are John and Wendy Knight… Has a younger sister named Kathleen… In addition to running, his hobbies include surfing and hanging out… Lists Robert Bannister breaking the four minute mile as his most memorable moment in sports… Is an Environmental Systems major in Sixth College… Wants to pursue a career as a surgeon.
