Coach Charity Elliott's Women's Basketball team will be looking to collect its fourth consecutive win and stay unblemished in conference play when it travels to north to tangle with Cal State East Bay (0-4) tomorrow night...The Tritons (3-0/2-0) are now 55-15 under Elliott who's in her third year at the helm...This will be their first time they have met league newcomer Cal State East Bay.

UCSD will be back home this weekend, hosting the four-team UCSD Classic...Friday night the Tritons hook up with NAIA Biola (3-4) and Saturday they take on Alaska-Fairbanks (1-7).

The squad's leading scorer, sophomore point guard Chelsea Carlisle(17.0 ppg.) was named the Wilson/CCAA Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 6 after pacing UCSD to conference victories at Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.

In search of its first win of the young season, Coach Chris Carlson's Men's Basketball team (0-4-/0-2) will head to Hayward tomorrow to battle CCAA foe Cal State East Bay (2-4/0-2)...A week later (Dec. 22), the Tritons will play at RIMAC Arena for the first time this year, hosting San Diego Christian.

Senior Jordan Lawley, junior Casey Ryan and sophomore Christian Hatch have started all four games for UCSD but all nine players who have appeared in every game are averaging over 10 minutes of playing time as Carlson looks for the right combinations and rotation...Lawley and freshman point guard Jake Tarabilda are 1-2 in the minutes played category to date...Despite battling an early season shooting slump, Lawley is the Tritons' top scorer, averaging 13.8 ppg, followed by fellow senior Tyler Acevedo at 9.8 ppg...Ryan is No. 1 in the rebounding column at 6.8 per contest.

UCSD Athletics' weekly online radio show, Triton Talk, hosted by Craig Elsten, will take a three-week holiday hiatus, resuming the week of January 4.

Junior midfielder Lisa Bradley of the Women's Soccer team was named a first team Division II All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)...The Martinez, CA native helped the Tritons to a 15-5-2 record and the third round of the NCAA Playoffs...She was a first team All-CCAA selection as well.

Sophomore libero Roxanne Brunsting of the UCSD Women's Volleyball team, who had 494 digs and 61 aces, was chosen as a first team Division II Daktronics All-American... Brunsting and her teammates compiled a 29-3 record but were upset in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs.

The 10th annual UCSD Athletics' Blood Drive, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will be held Friday, Jan. 15 in the RIMAC Green Room from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM...To make a reservation to donate blood, e-mail tritons@ucsd.edu...Last year, UCSD was No. 1 among all Southern California college and universities in total blood donations through the Red Cross and the Athletic Dept. event was the No. 1 single day event on the campus.
