Darrick attended the University of California, Davis (UCD), graduating with a degree in exercise biology in 2009. While at UCD, he played intramural sports and stayed active with strength and conditioning workouts. His philosophy involves strength and conditioning with an emphasis on perfect technique, injury prevention and sport-specific training. He utilized these techniques to train athletic and personal training clients in San Jose, Calif., before entering the internship program at UC San Diego. Darrick is currently finishing up his last semester of the Master’s program in exercise physiology at San Jose State University. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, backpacking and other outdoor activities.
A native of Rockford, Ill., Katie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise and sport science. She minored in nutrition and took many classes with a strength and conditioning concentration. After graduating, she moved to Melbourne, Australia, where she worked as a personal trainer. Katie has plans to pursue a Master’s Degree after gaining experience at UCSD. Her hobbies include wakeboarding, snowboarding and, more recently, surfing.
