GETTING EVEN
UCSD stayed at .500 on the year by splitting a pair of matches over the weekend. On Friday, the Tritons faced Cal State Dominguez Hills at the Home Depot Center's Main Stadium. The Toros scored in the 28th minute and the CSUDH defense cleared a ball off its own goal line with moments remaining to preserve a 1-0 edge. UCSD rebounded on Sunday in its first CCAA home contest against Cal State San Bernardino, however. Cory Wolfrom fooled CSUSB keeper Tanner Olinger in the 74th minute after receiving a pass on a short-corner from Andisheh Bagheri. Wolfrom sent in a cross from the left side to the top of the six yard box, forcing Olinger to make a decision. Olinger let the ball bounce in the goal box, but couldn't get a hand to it as the ball hopped into the side-netting inside the far post for the game's only goal. Two of the Tritons three CCAA wins have come against CSUSB.

YOU OTTER KNOW
Cal State Monterey Bay leapfrogged into second place in the CCAA North with a pair of home wins against Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus over the weekend. CSUMB had been in fifth place going into the weekend, but a 2-1 win over CSUC and a 2-0 victory over CSUS put the Otters right in the thick of the CCAA Tournament hunt. UCSD is 3-2-2 all-time against CSUMB and is 2-0-2 in its last four contests with the Otters. Last year, UCSD beat CSUMB 1-0 in the only contest between the teams on September 24, 2010 in Seaside. It's been a rough 2011 for Cal State East Bay as the Pioneers enter the weekend winless in conference play and 1-7 overall. CSUEB dropped a pair of home contests over the weekend to CSUS and CSUC, respectively, and have managed to score just four goals during CCAA play this year. UCSD is a perfect 6-0 all-time against CSUEB and outscored the Pioneers a combined 8-0 over the final two games of the Tritons' 2010 campaign. CSUEB is the only team in the CCAA without a point in the conference table.

SINCE YOU ASKED...
Wolfrom's goal on Sunday against Cal State San Bernardino was the first of his Triton career ... UCSD is 4-0 in 2011 in games in which they have scored ... Elan Gefen and Josh van de Vrugt made their first career starts for the Tritons over the weekend ... Jesse Brennan's start on Friday against Cal State Dominguez Hills was his first since October 15, 2010 ... UCSD is 9-9-4 at Triton Soccer Field since the start of the 2009 season ... Sunday's win vs. CSUSB was the men's soccer progam's 100th victory since joining the ranks of NCAA Division II in 2000.
