Alec Arsht Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego's Alec Arsht was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team for District 8, it was announced Friday by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The sophomore from Oak Park, Calif. boasts a 3.6 overall grade point average and is currently pursuing a degree in Poitical Science. He qualifies to be a finalist for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team which will be annouced in three weeks.

Candidates were evaluated for their on-field performance in addition to their prowess in the classroom. Arsht played a key role for the Tritons this season, scoring four goals while adding two assists. He started all 18 matches for UCSD.

The honor comes three days after Arsht was named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association Honorable Mention Team.

UCSD finished the season in third place in the CCAA South with a 10-8 overall record and 9-7 CCAA mark. The Tritons were victorious in their final four matches.
