UC San Diego improves to 24-0 overall on the season and a perfect 18-0 in conference play, clinching at least a share of the California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season title with the win. Rosa Tirado hit a pair of free throws to bring CSUS to within 21-15 with 11:13 remaining in the half, but UCSD answered with 16 unanswered points over the next four minutes to take a commanding 37-15 advantage.
Feder scored seven points and Freidenberg had back-to-back baskets during the run as the Tritons began to pull away.
The Warriors cut the deficit to 17 (45-28) at the half, but the Tritons opened the second stanza on a 14-6 spurt to push the lead to 25 at 59-34 with 15 minutes to play. The three seniors were at the forefront once again, accounting for 12 of UCSD's points during the stretch.
The Tritons continued to pour it on as back-to-back threes from Freidenberg and Feder made it 67-36 less than two minutes later. UCSD led by at least 24 the rest of the way, with the margin ballooning to as many as 34 at the final horn.
