GLENDALE, Ariz.- The No. 17 UC San Diego women's tennis team closed out its three-day trip to Arizona with a 5-4  edging of Academy of Art Sunday.

The Tritons finished with two wins and a loss in Arizona with victories against Dominican and Academy of Art and a loss against No. 14 Grand Canyon. UCSD is now 2-4 on the season.

The Tritons bested the Urban Knights by a margin of 2-1 in doubles play, with Melinda Chu and Tara Vanooteghem winning at No. 2 and Katie Mulloy and Samantha Yeung taking the No. 3 match. The No. 1 pair of Melissa Breisacher and Jacquelyn Davis fell to AA's Amal Ben El Hadj and Kunkanda Phukchampa.

In singles play, the wins were equally split between the squads, as the Urban Knights swept the top three spots on the ladder and the Tritons secured the bottom three.
