What's On Tap
After wrapping up their home slate with wins over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last week, the undefeated and No. 1-ranked UC San Diego women's basketball team will play four straight on the road to conclude the 2011-12 regular season. The Tritons will travel to Seaside for a clash with second place Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday evening, before squaring off with Cal State East Bay in Hayward on Saturday. Both games will tip-off at 5:30 p.m.

For the Record
UCSD embarks on its four-game road trip with a flawless overall record of 24-0 and a perfect 18-0 tally in California Collegiate Athletic Association play after registering a pair of comfortable wins over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last week. The Tritons turned in a dominant second half performance to blow by the Wildcats, 93-76, on Friday and then took care of business against a short-handed Warrior squad on Senior Night, winning by a final margin of 85-51. UCSD, which has put together the best start in the history of the conference this season, has been virtually unbeatable in CCAA play for over a calendar year, winning 27 of its last 28 CCAA games dating back to January of last season.

Another CCAA Title Within Reach
The Tritons clinched at least a share of the 2011-12 CCAA regular season championship with their victory over Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday and can wrap up the crown outright with a win over Cal State Monterey Bay or Cal State East Bay this weekend. With a four-game lead in the conference standings, UCSD has already locked up the top seed in the upcoming CCAA Tournament, which will begin with a first round home game on Tuesday, February 28. The Tritons have won three of the last four CCAA regular season championships, but are still looking for their first CCAA Tournament title after falling short the previous four years. UCSD finished third in the league standings with a record of 17-5 in 2010-11 .

View From the Top
UC San Diego has clearly separated itself from the rest of the CCAA and there are several numbers that show just how dominant the Tritons have been this season. UCSD has a ridiculous scoring margin of +20.0 in conference play, winning all but one of its games by double digits. The Tritons have won 11 games by at least 20 points in 2011-12, including last week's victories over Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus. UCSD leads the league in scoring offense at 79.6, averaging over 10 more points per game than second place Cal State L.A. (69.0). The Tritons are also the top-ranked team in the league in terms of field goal percentage (.459), three-point field goals made (167), rebounds (42.0) and assists (17.7).

At Home on the Road
If the Tritons are going to conclude the regular season with an undefeated record, they're going to have to win their final four games on the road. Based on their body of work thus far, that's a very realistic possibility. UCSD is a perfect 8-0 in true road games this season, winning those eight games by an average of over 16 points per game. The Tritons are putting up 79.2 points on 45.6% shooting on the road, which is virtually identical to their numbers at home: 80.5 points on 46.2% shooting. UCSD has been just as comfortable on the road as at home this season, something that bodes well for the postseason.
