LA JOLLA, Calif. - The 21st-ranked UC San Diego women's tennis team was defeated by Concordia, 6-3, in the season's final competition on the Northview Tennis Courts Monday.

UCSD fell to 6-14 on the season, while CUI, ranked eighth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), improved to 11-6.

In celebration of senior day, Katie Mulloy, Krystal Mizuguchi and Samantha Yeung were honored in their last home contest as Tritons. Mulloy was tabbed the day's top performer by UCSD head coach Liz LaPlante, as she secured two wins for UCSD.

On the doubles side, Mulloy teamed up with Laura Wilke to defeat Ellie Johnson and Ulrike Hahn, 8-2, at the No. 3 position. At No. 1, Melissa Breisacher and Jacquelyn Davis fell to Bettina Radke and Jordan Kimura, who are ranked No. 5 nationally in the NAIA, 8-4.

Two Tritons captured victories in singles as Tara Vanooteghem won at No. 3 and Mulloy earned her second victory of the day at No. 4. Vanooteghem defeated Johanna Sceresini in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, and Mulloy beat Hahn by a margin of 6-3, 6-0. At No. 5, Yeung forced three sets before falling to Kristin Yep, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. Breisacher was defeated by Radke, who is ranked No. 9 nationally in the NAIA polls, 6-1, 7-5, at the No. 1 spot.

UCSD has three matches left on its regular season slate. The Tritons will next travel to Cal State Stanislaus to face the Warriors on Apr. 20 at 2 p.m.
