LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego softball team is headed to Stockton this weekend as the No. 4 seed for the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament at Arnaiz Field.

UCSD (32-18, 23-13) plays top-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills (41-11, 21-7) on Friday at 4:30 p.m. No. 2 seed Cal State Monterey Bay (42-10, 27-7) faces No. 3 Chico State (34-14, 25-9) at 7:00 p.m.

The Tritons qualified for the CCAA postseason tournament for the third time in the past four seasons. After earning the regular-season conference title in 2011, UCSD went 2-2 at the CCAA Tournament while finishing runner-up to Sonoma State.

Both of the Tritons' wins were over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 4-0 and 6-2. UCSD is 3-1 against CSUDH this season.

UCSD, sitting sixth in the West Region in the NCAA Division II rankings as of April 18, is expecting a strong performance at the CCAA's in order to qualify for its second-straight NCAA postseason tournament.
