WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC San Diego's Nick Howe was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 29, the conference announced on Monday. It marks the second time this season he has been honored.

Howe had a standout performance at the Triton Invitational last weekend, finishing third overall in a stacked men's javelin invitational field. Seeded seventh, the senior from Aptos, Calif. uncorked a big throw of 226'8", which was behind only Mike Hazle of Nike (236'3") and Long Beach State's Benjamin Woodruff (228'3").
