OMAHA, Neb. - UC San Diego had an all-time high eight swimmers competing in a total of 11 events at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which run from Monday, June 25 through Monday, July 2 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.
At least one Triton competed every day between Monday and Sunday.

Sunday, July 1: The last race for the Tritons at the Trials proved to be their best of the week as Matt Herman won his heat and placed 20th overall in the prelims of the 1500 freestyle. Herman swam a 15:35.36, more than 16 seconds faster than his qualifying time of 15:51.50. Swimming in the second of 10 heats, the two-time NCAA champion posted the 20th-best time of 91 competitors.
"It was a huge swim for him," said UCSD co-head coach Matt Macedo. "For a Division II, non-scholarship program, it's incredible. It is such a credit to him and he deserves it as much as anybody. We are very excited for him."
Andrew Gemmell won the event in 14:57.29. Connor Jaeger was second (14:59.97) and Arthur Frayler placed third (15:08.08). The top eight finishers advance to Monday's finals.
In finals action, Missy Franklin won the 200 back (2:06.12), Michael Phelps took the 100 fly (51.14), Kathleen Ledecky won the 800 free (8:19.78) and Cullen Jones was victorious in the 50 free (21.59).
Saturday, June 30: Adam Rice competed in his second event in as many days Saturday, placing 106th in the 100 butterfly prelims with a time of 55.66. World record holder Michael Phelps came in first (51.80) and was trailed by Tyler McGill (51.87) and Davis Tarwater (52.13). Rice, who swam the 200 IM on Friday, was in the first of 13 heats today.
Alex Henley also competed in her second event Saturday, clocking a 2:17.25 to finish 66th in the prelims of the 200 backstroke. Missy Franklin, the American record holder, won the heats with a time of 2:08.35. Elizabeth Pelton placed second (2:08.89) and Elizabeth Beisel took third (2:09.35). Henley, who also swam the 400 IM Monday, was in the 14th of 19 heats Saturday.
In Saturday night's finals, Michael Phelps (1:54.84) beat world record holder Ryan Lochte (1:54.93) in the 200 individual medley. Rebecca Soni won the 200 breaststroke (2:21.13), Lochte took the 200 backstroke (1:54.54) and Jessica Hardy topped the field in the 100 free (53.96).
Matt Herman will compete in the 1500 freestyle Sunday, the final event of the Trials for the Tritons.
Adamczyk, the NCAA Division II national champion and UCSD record holder in the 200 breast, finished 76th with a time of 2:37.39 in the morning prelims. American record holder Rebecca Soni won the heats in 2:23.11 while Micah Lawrence was second (2:24.95) and Andrea Kropp took third (2:25.77).
Rice put up a time of 2:07.35 to place 90th in the 200 IM prelims. He is UCSD's record holder in the event. Conor Dwyer topped the field in 1:59.11, Michael Phelps was second (1:59.27) and Austin Surhoff took third (1:59.65). World record holder Ryan Lochte came in fourth (1:59.92).
In finals action Friday night, Scott Weltz won the 200 breaststroke (2:09.01), Cammile Adams placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:06.52) and Nathan Adrian took the 100 freestyle (48.10).
Rice will compete in his second Trials event, the 100 butterfly, Saturday. Also on Saturday, Alex Henley will swim in the women's 200 backstroke.
Lammott, swimming in the second of 14 prelim heats, finished 68th with a time of 2:19.84, beating his Trials qualifying swim of 2:20.47.
Korth, who won a national title in the 200 breast as a freshman in 2011, swam in heat four and tied for 77th by logging a 2:20.48. It was the school record holder's second event of the Olympic Trials as he competed in the 100 breaststroke on Monday.
The top time in the prelims went to Clark Burckle, who recorded a 2:10.30. Scott Weltz was second in 2:10.90 and Eric Shanteau, the American record holder in the 200 breast, was third with a time of 2:11.57.
In finals action Thursday night, Allison Schmitt won the 200 freestyle (1:54.40), Michael Phelps took the 200 butterfly (1:53.65) and Caitlin Leverenz was victorious in the 200 individual medley (2:10.22).
Wednesday, June 27: Day three of the Trials proved to be the most successful yet for the Tritons as Dane Stassi tied for 41st in the prelims of the 200 butterfly.
Stassi, who recently completed his freshman season at UCSD, clocked a 2:01.93 in the race, coming in below his Trials qualifying time of 2:02.00. Bobby Bollier turned in a top time of 1:56.69, Tyler Clary was second (1:57.23) and world record holder Michael Phelps tied Thomas Luchsinger for third (1:57.75). Bollier went on to win the semifinals in 1:56.06.
Four finals were contested Wednesday night. Phelps, the American record holder in the 200 freestyle, won the event in 1:45.70 with Ryan Lochte taking second in 1:45.75. Missy Franklin topped the field in the 100 backstroke (58.85) while 11-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin placed third (1:00.06). The men's 100 back went to Matt Grevers (52.08) and the women's 100 breaststroke was won by Breeja Larson (1:05.92) with Rebecca Soni in second (1:05.99) and world record holder Jessica Hardy in third (1:06.53).
Tuesday, June 26: Triton Eva Chen swam the 100 breaststroke on day two of the Olympic Trials, posting a 1:16.80 to finish 152nd in the preliminaries. Three-time Olympic medalist Rebecca Soni won the heats in 1:06.33 and was trailed by Breeja Larson (1:06.52) and world record holder Jessica Hardy (1:07.25).
Also on Tuesday, Brendan Hansen qualified for his third Olympic Team by winning the 100 breaststroke (59.68). Others qualifying for the 2012 London Games were Dana Vollmer with a win in the women's 100 butterfly (56.50) and Allison Schmitt with a win in the women's 400 freestyle (4:02.84).
Ryan Lochte (1:46.26) and Michael Phelps (1:46.27) went 1-2 in a super close 200 freestyle semifinal and will be back at it in Wednesday night's final.
Henley, swimming in the first of 13 heats, clocked a 4:59.46 to finish 91st overall in the prelims. Defending world champion Elizabeth Beisel was first in 4:35.72 and was followed by Caitlin Leverenz (4:39.57) and Cammile Adams (4:39.84). Beisel went on to won the final in a time of 4:31.74 to secure her spot on the Olympic squad.
Korth, UCSD's record holder in the 100 breast, tied for 78th by swimming a 1:04.35 in the prelims. John Criste won with a time of 1:00.29, Brendan Hansen was second (1:00.30) and Mark Gangloff, the U.S. record holder, took third (1:00.43).
In other races, defending world champ Ryan Lochte won the 400 IM (4:07.06) and Peter Vanderkaay was victorious in the 400 freestyle (3:47.67).
