Success over time - that is what best symbolizes great collegiate athletic programs and UC San Diego Softball has achieved continued success at the elite level. Under the guidance of 20-year Head Coach Patti Gerckens, the Tritons are focused on maintaining their status at this level.

It is no coincidence that the 2011 NCAA title came just a year after the opening of the renovated Triton Softball Field. Sparked by the generosity of UCSD Softball alumna Dana Chaiken ('91), this state-of-the-art facility has clearly generated increased visibility and helped push Triton Softball to a new level of achievement.

Having reached that lofty stage, we're looking to advance even further. The objective is to not only win national championships in the future but to do so on our own field. For that dream to become reality, the next step is to install permanent seating.

The plan is to create a chair back section of 313 seats in the area behind home plate. This would not only enhance the opportunity to host NCAA post-season events, including the NCAA Championship, but would allow us to provide a more viable option for additional high caliber softball competitions such as the CIF Championships and other regional play. The UC San Diego Softball Seating Campaign starts now. Our goal is to have a sea of navy blue seats in place when the 2013 home season opens on Friday, February 1 against Western Oregon University.

As part of this effort , you can sponsor one or more seats ($200 per seat) by simply clicking on the "Give Now" button found on this page. Shortly after your contribution has been processed, you will be contacted by e-mail to confirm the location of your seat(s) as well as the personalized inscription on the chair back section.
