A watershed moment in the history of UC San Diego Softball occurred in 2010 with the opening of the renovated Triton Softball Stadium. Sparked by the generosity of UCSD Softball alumna Dana Chaiken (’91), this state-of-the art facility has generated increased visibility and helped push Triton Softball to a new level of achievement.

2011 NCAA National Champions Artist Rendering of Seating

In five years since the new venue’s debut, Coach Patti Gerckens’ Triton Softball team has been to the NCAA Playoffs four times, won its first NCAA Division II Championship in 2011 and finished as the national runner-up in 2012.

One future objective is to not only win additional national championships but accomplish that feat on our own field. As part of that dream becoming reality, a chairback seating section was installed in 2013. That addition enhances UCSD’s opportunity to host NCAA post-season events, including the NCAA Championship, as well as providing a viable site for other high caliber softball competitions such as the San Diego Section CIF Championships.

The first phase of the seating project included not only installation but the initial segment of a sponsorship drive for the 313 seats. The FINAL PHASE, starting now, is geared toward completing the seating sponsorship program with a campaign that will also generate revenue for an expanded scholarship model and additional team needs.

You can be part of this effort and secure your legacy at Triton Softball Stadium by sponsoring one or more seats ($200 per seat) by simply clicking on the “Give Now” button found on this page. Shortly after your contribution has been processed, you will be contacted by e-mail to confirm the location of your seat(s) as well as the personalized inscription on the chair back section.

Act now and be part of Triton Softball history!
