A LOOK INTO TRITON WATER POLO HISTORY: Attending the Norcal Invitational has become somewhat of a tradition for the men's water polo team. Despite skipping out last season, UCSD holds a 13-9-1 record from 2005-10 when participating in the tourney. The Tritons face a variety of opponents when in attendance, including non-conference NCAA Division I opponents as well as a mix of WWPA teams. In 2010, the Tritons posted a 2-2 record earning victories over both Air Force and Navy.

BRACKET PLAY: This year UCSD will be placed in a bracket with fellow WWPA member Air Force, along with Cal and UC Irvine. The Tritons open play against UCI Saturday, Sept. 15 at 12:15 p.m. Opponents and game times for the remainder of the weekend are based upon results from first round matches.

FOLLOW LIVE: Game scores, bracket listings and schedule adjustments for this weekend's tournament will be available to follow all weekend at Norcal Invitational Central.

SCOUTING UCI: The Anteaters enter the tourney as a more tested squad than most, having already played seven games this season. UCI has found early success, boasting a 7-0 record after taking part in two tournaments earlier this month. The Anteaters finished out the 2011 season above .500, at 17-12 overall.
