SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Saturday's women's crew race featuring UC San Diego, San Diego State and the University of San Diego has been postponed due to high winds on Mission Bay.

"The winds produced too much choppy water to conduct a safe and fair race," said UCSD first-year head coach Colin Truex.

No make up date has yet been announced.

The Tritons opened their spring season last week with a commanding performance in Long Beach. UCSD boats won four of five races in fields that included Chapman, Long Beach State, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara.

UCSD will next compete at the Sacramento State Invitational in Rancho Cordova on Saturday, March 16.
