UCSD Once Again Ranked No. 1 in NCSA Collegiate Power Rankings
Release: Sunday 09/20/2013

LA JOLLA, Calif. - For the seventh consecutive year, UC San Diego has been ranked No. 1 among all NCAA Division II institutions in the country in the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) Power Rankings.

Ranked on the NCSA's list for the ninth year in a row, UCSD was tabbed 17th of all universities nationwide.

NCSA's Power Rankings assess the academic and athletics standards of all NCAA programs across the country. The rankings are calculated by averaging a school's Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standing, its NCAA student-athlete graduation rate and its U.S. News & World Report ranking.

The NCSA Power Rankings list, now in its 11th year, was developed to help prospective student-athletes and their families evaluate the particular strengths of the top colleges and universities at the Division I, II and III levels.

UC San Diego first appeared in the rankings in 2005 - coming in at No. 26 overall - and has earned a spot in the top 100 every year since. UCSD was ranked as high as No. 4 overall in 2007.

Duke topped the 2013 rankings for all schools and was followed by Amherst, Stanford, Notre Dame and Williams, which all tied for second place. On the Division II list, UCSD was trailed by Colorado School of Mines and Simon Fraser, which finished second and third, respectively.

A comprehensive list of the 2013 rankings, both overall and by NCAA division, is available here.
