Julie Moyer was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego women's rowing program in October of 2013.
Moyer arrived at UCSD after spending one year as the assistant varsity freshman coach at San Diego State University.
Moyer’s affiliation with rowing began in 2004, when she competed for the Los Gatos Rowing Club (LGRC). As an LGRC member, she won two gold medals at the national championships (2007-08).
After completing her final year of high school, Moyer continued on to row for San Diego State. As an Aztec, she placed in the top five at the championship race in 2011. She was the team captain her senior year, was named Most Valuable Rower as a junior, and received the Most Valuable Novice award as a freshman in 2008.
The San Jose native earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on health, fitness and nutrition from SDSU in 2013.
