Former Triton standout Erik Elliott was named an assistant coach with the UCSD men's tennis program in October of 2013.

Elliot began his coaching career as a private tennis instructor and hitting coach from 2011-13. In 2007-08 he assisted with tennis clinics at the Laguna Niguel Racquet Club.

A No. 1 and No. 2 player for the Tritons from 2007-09, he was nationally ranked at No. 19 in singles and No. 9 in doubles, earning ITA All-America accolades. He finished fifth in doubles at the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championships.

While at UCSD, Elliot was awarded the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award and the 2009 ITA Scholar Athlete Award. He was tabbed the Tritons' Most Valuable Player in 2010 and an ITA Division II West Region Player to Watch.

The San Juan Capistrano native earned a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering from UCSD in 2011.
