Brian Robison was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego men's rowing program in October of 2013.
Robison served as the head coach of the men's rowing club program at nearby San Diego State University from 2009-13. He was responsible for running practices, setting lineups, providing instruction in sweep rowing, and improving the technique and power of his athletes. While at SDSU, Robison was the lead rowing instructor for Mission Bay Aquatic Center, where he taught rowing and sculling classes at all skill levels.
Prior to his time in San Diego, Robison spent time coaching at Humboldt State University. He was the men’s head coach (2008-09) and the women’s assistant coach (2009-10). He also was an assistant coach for the Humboldt Bay Rowing Association (2006-09), where he worked on improving technique and power application with calisthenics and the erg.
From 2003-07, Robison competed at Humboldt State, where he was team captain his freshman year and club treasurer (2004-07).
Robison earned a bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State in 2007.
