BOSTON - Two University of California San Diego men's rowers have been named to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's (IRA) All-Academic Team as its Board of Stewards announced the 2016-17 honorees Friday.

Sophomores Victor De Cos and Adrian Dinescu were among the 336 student-athletes from the IRA's 32 member institutions to earn the honor.

To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution, and have competed at the 2017 IRA National Championship Regatta.

De Cos is a Biochemistry major in UC San Diego's Revelle College, while Dinescu (Santee/Santana HS) is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Warren College.

The two Tritons helped lead the UCSD men's rowing program to its fourth appearance at the IRA National Championships this past season.
