LA JOLLA, Calif. - University of California San Diego men's water polo goalkeeper Jack Turner has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2017 World University Games. The event is set for Aug. 19-30 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Turner is one of 13 athletes on the squad, alongside Nic Carniglia, the older brother of Triton teammate Noah Carniglia. The action begins on Friday, Aug. 18, against Japan at 2 a.m. PT. Team USA will also take on Russia and Romania in group play.

A rising redshirt junior, Turner recorded 248 saves in the cage to go along with 14 assists and 30 steals in 2016, gaining All-Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) honorable mention.
