RIVERSIDE, Calif. - A balanced scoring attack and a strong first half propelled the twelfth-ranked University of California San Diego men’s water polo team to a 12-8 win over Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) rival No. 17 California Baptist, Thursday evening in Riverside.
With the win, UC San Diego remains undefeated in conference play, improving to a perfect 4-0 record and stays on top of the WWPA standings with a two-game lead. Overall, UCSD moves to 7-10. CBU fell to 16-8 on the season and 1-2 in the conference.

In goal, junior Sam Thompson had 10 saves to go along with five steals.
"We are super stoked to win on the road and very pleased to have a great start and establish some separation," said head coach Denny Harper. "It always helps when you have three players have hat tricks and a solid game by Sam in goal".
UCSD held a 33-26 advantage in shots and finished 2-of-9 on powerplays while the Lancers went 1-of-8.
The Tritons used a strong first half, outscoring CBU 8-3, as the deciding factor to seal their fourth conference win. Momdzhyan opened-up the game with two goals while Turnbow-Lindenstadt added a goal and an assist during the first frame.
