Tritons Perform Well, Fall Short to Oxford Brookes at 2018 Henley Royal Regatta
Release: Wednesday 07/04/2018

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England - The University of California San Diego men's rowing team faced stiff competition at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta on Wednesday, falling short to the Oxford Brookes University 'A' crew by 3.5 lengths on the River Thames.

Oxford Brookes 'A', the two-time reigning champion and favorite of The Temple Challenge Cup, completed the race in 6-minutes, 38-seconds.

Wednesday's result comes five days after the Tritons' 8+ finished in the top 12 of 35 crews in the qualifier on Friday to qualify for the knockout round.

Earlier this season, UC San Diego swept the Western Sprints Championships by placing first in four separate events, after having three boats advance to the Grand Finals of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships.
