Paul Lotman joined the UC San Diego Men's Volleyball staff prior to the 2019 season.
Lotman's coaching days began in 2005 when he was an assistant for the Riptides Volleyball Club in Irvine, Calif.
Lotman is no stranger to the NCAA volleyball circuit as he played for Long Beach State from 2005-08. Over his career, he totaled 1,408 kills and 135 service aces. As a senior, he helped the Beach advance to the national semifinals. Lotman was named AVCA Co-Player of the Year, MPSF Player of the Year, and an AVCA First Team All-American.
Following his career at Long Beach State, Lotman went on to have a successful professional career playing in Germany, Poland, Italy, France, Greece, and Puerto Rico. Additionally, he played on the U.S. Junior National Team in 2005 and won a bronze medal at the World University Games in 2007. He went on to play with the U.S. Men's National Team and represented the United States at the 2012 Olympics in London.
