No. 13 Tritons to Host Humboldt State This Weekend
LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. 13 University of California San Diego softball team will host California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) foe Humboldt State this weekend. The schedule for this weekend may be adjusted due to rain. Visit the schedule page here for the latest updates.
The Tritons enter the series at 13-2 on the season and 11-1 in CCAA play, while the Lumberjacks stand at 3-7 overall and 1-6 in conference action. UC San Diego is coming off of a four-game road sweep of Stanislaus State, while Humboldt State previously fell in a tripleheader with San Francisco State.
TRITON SOFTBALL FIELD INFORMATION
Admission is free to games at Triton Softball Field. There is parking available near the field, but be aware that parking passes are required in order to park on campus on weekdays. There are machines where passes can be purchased in the parking lots and garages. On-campus parking is free on weekends.
GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS CELEBRATION AND FESTIVAL
On Saturday, UC San Diego will honor the remarkable achievements of girls and women in sports. The celebration will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the walkway outside of RIMAC Arena, and will be moved into the RIMAC Arena lobby in the case of rain. The empowering festival will feature food vendors, games, prizes, community organization booths, autograph signing sessions, and more.
Fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a free UC San Diego Tritons hat, while supplies last.
ALUMNI AND PARENT SOCIAL
UC San Diego softball alumni and parents are invited to take part in a social, which will be held at the dugout from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday.
Last year when the two teams met, they split the series. The Tritons came away with high-scoring victories on day one, winning 9-0 (6 innings) and 11-7. Humboldt State managed to edge the Tritons on day two, and the Tritons fell 3-4 in extras (8 innings) and 3-6 in the final contest.

LAST TIME OUT
The Tritons previously played their first conference road games in Turlock, taking home a four-game sweep of Stanislaus State. Danica Kazakoff had a team-high six RBIs during the series, with four of those coming on a grand slam in game four. The blast was her first career home run.
Following this series, the Tritons will hit the road again. UC San Diego will take on Sonoma State for a pair of doubleheaders starting at noon on March 8 and 11 a.m. on March 9.
