LA JOLLA, Calif. – The University of California San Diego men’s rowing team is set to host its first UC San Diego Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, welcoming teams from near and far to the prestigious Elite Athlete Training Center of Chula Vista.
The weekend will be divided into four sessions, with sessions one and two taking place on Saturday and sessions three and four taking place on Sunday.

HOW TO ATTEND
The Tritons will host their competitors at the 155-acre, state-of-the-art Elite Athlete Training Center of Chula Vista. The complex is located at 2800 Olympic Pkwy., and the races are free to attend.
“I’m really excited to see some top-level competition, from the east coast and from up north in Stanford,” said junior Andrew Garrow. “I think it should be a really good time, getting some good crews out there and getting some good racing down in Chula Vista.”
“We’re just trying to improve,” said Head Coach Zach Johnson. “We’ve got spring break this week. We’re getting some really good work in and kind of recovering from finals. The main thing is just finding some lineups that work, and going against some really top crews going into this weekend helps us judge where we are nationally.”
LAST TIME OUT
The Tritons previously went head-to-head with the University of San Diego at Mission Bay. UC San Diego captured its fourth-straight City Championships title, as the Varsity 8 definitively took two of three races with the Toreros. View the full recap here
