Charlotte Smith was named an assistant coach with the University of California San Diego women's rowing team in September of 2019. The 2019-20 season is her first helping with the Triton team.
Smith most recently served as an assistant coach for Dexter Southfield Boat Club, located in Dedham, Mass, where she developed male and female athletes of all skill levels. Before that, she began her coaching career with Community Rowing in Boston after serving as a strength and conditioning coach at The School Without Walls in Washington D.C.
Smith rowed for George Washington from 2013-17. Among Smith’s accolades were a First Team All-Conference nod and Team MVP award. She also served as her squad’s social chair, organizing team events such as community service opportunities.
While rowing at George Washington, Smith participated in the Student-Athlete Leadership Academy. She attended monthly seminars on how to improve team-building skills and become an effective leader.
