AZUSA/SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of California San Diego men’s tennis team is prepared to open its fall portion of its schedule at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships and Aztec Fall Invite this week.
The ITA West Regionals will take place in Azusa, as Azusa Pacific plays host to the west region teams from Oct. 3-5. The Aztec Fall Invitational will be held closer to home, as the Tritons participate in San Diego State’s invite from Oct. 4-6.

THIS YEAR’S SQUAD
The 2018-19 team is a mix of six returners of five newcomers. Among the newcomers are four freshmen – including brothers Phillip and William Lan – and one transfer, Cody Duong, who comes to UC San Diego from American River College.
LAST YEAR’S RESULTS
Last season, the Tritons finished with an even 10-10 record in dual matches. UC San Diego was vying for a spot in the NCAA Championship, but came up just short as they fell to then-No. 15 Azusa Pacific, 4-3, to end their season.
The autumn action will pick back up on Nov. 7, as the Tritons compete at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships in Los Angeles. UC San Diego’s spring schedule will be released at a later date.
