Brooks Dagman was named the boathouse manager and assistant coach for the University of California San Diego men’s and women’s rowing teams in 2019.
Prior to assisting UC San Diego, Dagman led the University of San Diego men’s rowing program for 28 years. During his tenure, he helped turn the Toreros into one of the most respected programs on the west coast.
Among the highlights during Dagman’s time at USD was the program’s first trip to the National Championship Regatta in 2009. After a second place showing at the Crew Classic and a silver medal in the Varsity 4 and bronze medal in the Varsity 8 at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships, the team earned its first automatic qualification to the national regatta.
In addition to his time at USD, Dagman has served as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Rowing Team, president of WIRA, and a representative for the Men’s Olympic Rowing Committee.
Prior to his coaching career, Dagman graduated from UCLA in 1985, earning three varsity letters during his time on the men’s rowing team. He was named the Bruins’ Most Valuable Oarsman in 1984.
