Jessica Rieble Named San Diego Sports Association Star of the Month
SAN DIEGO - Jessica Rieble of the University of California San Diego women's volleyball team has been named a Star of the Month for October by the San Diego Sports Association.
Rieble hit .462 and averaged 3.7 points, 2.9 kills, and 1.1 blocks per set - all team bests - over nine matches in October.
In her best outing of the month, the senior middle blocker put down a career high 19 kills and matched her career best with 23 points in a home win against conference opponent Stanislaus State.
Currently ranked fourth in the country in hitting percentage, Rieble was named the AVCA National Player of the Week and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week on Oct. 22. She is the Tritons' first national player of the week since the program moved to NCAA Division II status in 2000.
It is Rieble's second Star of the Month accolade as she was honored in August of 2018.
With three matches remaining in the regular season, UC San Diego (15-7, 9-5) sits in third place in the CCAA's South Division. The top four squads in each of the league's two divisions qualify for the conference tournament, hosted by Cal State San Bernardino Nov. 21-23.
The Tritons play host to Cal State LA on Friday, Nov. 8, and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Nov. 9. Both matches are set for a 7 p.m. start and Saturday will be Senior Night at RIMAC Arena. For ticket info, click here. All home matches are broadcast live by ESPN3.
