LOS ANGELES – The University of California San Diego men’s tennis team is prepared to continue its fall portion of its schedule at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships this week.

COMPETITION DETAILS

The 63rd annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships will be hosted by USC at Marks Tennis Stadium. The competition will last from Thursday-Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT

The Tritons’ most recent action was at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup, as Zach Ermert and Sreeganesh Manoharan represented UC San Diego in doubles. The Triton pair ultimately bowed out after falling to their St. Mary’s and University of Charleston opponents.

LAST YEAR’S RESULTS

Last year at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, all four Tritons competing in singles – Marc Isaia, Sahm Irvine, Zach Ermert, and Neil Tengbumroong -- captured victories in the round of 64. Irvine also picked up a win in the round of 32 to advance to the next day’s main draw. However, he was unable to top his UC Santa Barbara opponent, 6-2, 6-1.

WHAT’S NEXT

UC San Diego will host its Elite Team 3 Fundraiser at 10 a.m. on Nov. 10 at Northview Tennis Courts. Following that, the Tritons will get ready to battle San Diego State at noon on Jan. 18 at Santaluz Country Club.
