The Tritons will have three boats racing in the Men’s Open 8+. UC San Diego will face crews from Arizona State, Long Beach State, Orange Coast College, San Diego Rowing Club, San Diego State, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, and the University of San Diego.
In the 2018 San Diego Fall Classic, the Tritons’ A squad raced to a second-place finish in the Men’s Open 8+. UC San Diego was less than a second behind first-place University of San Diego.
“The oarsmen have been training very hard,” said Head Coach Geoff Bond. “I continue to be impressed by their focus, work ethic, and enthusiasm. While we have only been working together for a few weeks, they have made good progress technically and physiologically. Sunday’s race will give them a great opportunity to get after it and have some fun.”
