As a Junior in 2009: Compiled a 7-8 singles record and a 12-5 doubles record during her first season as a Triton and was named to the All-CCAA Second Team and the league's Newcomer of the Year... went 1-0 at the No. 1 singles position, a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 11... went 1-1 at No. 2 singles, 3-5 at No. 3 and 2-2 at No. 4... in doubles, she went 2-0 at the No. 1 position, 8-4 at No. 2 and 2-1 at No. 3... named the Penn/CCAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 2-8 when she went 5-0 in doubles and 3-1 in singles in helping the Tritons defeat West Regional powers Hawaii-Pacific and Hawaii-Hilo.

At UC Davis: Attended UC Davis prior to transferring to UC San Diego... teamed with Emma Shapiro for team-best 19-13 doubles record... Athavale and Shapiro went 7-4 in tournaments, 12-9 in duals... tandem opened year with 3-1 record at Saint Mary's Invitational and finished season with 4-1 ledger at the Ojai... posted 1-4 singles mark, all in tourneys... lone win was 6-1, 6-0 match over San Francisco's Nisha Dixit at SMC Invitational.

High School: Attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif... selected to All-West Catholic Athletic League teams all four years, including first-team honors in 2003 and 2004... won team MVP honors as a sophomore and junior... captured team's Coaches' Award for achievement... won WCAL doubles title and advanced to Central Coast Section doubles semis as a senior... made Principal's Honor Roll all four years.
