A three-sport athlete and member of UCSD’s 1987 and 1990 NCAA Division III volleyball champions, Sasaki worked as an Assistant Director of Intramural Sports for the UCSD Recreation Dept. following graduation. After a stint as a graduate assistant in the Recreation Dept. at Indiana University, she became the Director of Intramural Sports and later the Ticket Manager and Team Travel Coordinator at UC Irvine.
Sasaki left UCI in 2000 to become the Director of Operations for StreetZebra.com, a web-based company in Marina Del Rey that offered a variety of online services to adult, youth, parks & recreation and intramural sports organizations.
For the past three years, she has worked as a recruiter for UBS Investment Bank, traveling four-to-five months per year to the top business schools in the country. Once on campus, she coordinates presentations and events, manages the interview and selection process and generally highlights UBS at the various institutions. She also conducts resume reviews and sits on panels for Career Management Centers at different schools.
Sasaki lives in the Century City section of Los Angeles and remains active in the sporting world. She completed the 2004 Los Angeles Marathon and is currently training for November’s New York Marathon. An avid golfer and a big college basketball fan, she has attended the last seven NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four tournaments. Sasaki is also becoming involved in HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles Youth), a non-profit organization that takes kids off the streets and prepares them to go to college.
