The only two teams to finish ahead of the UCSD women were Division I schools UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. The Tritons had runners finish 5th, 11th, 22nd, 23rd and 28th for their team total of 89 points. Only runners who competed with teams were awarded points in the race.
Diane Dunn was the top finisher for UCSD in the 5k race, crossing the finish line in a time of 18:37.1 Her time was the 7th best time on the day, but the fifth best time from a runner associated with a team. Emily McGregor was the next Triton to finish the race, scoring 11 points as her time of 18:48.0 was the 13th best time overall.
Amanda Burkhardt and Ashleigh Montgomery were the next two Tritons to cross the finish line, finishing in times of 19:12.9 and 19:15.6, respectively. Catherine Strouse rounded out the UCSD races who scored, finishing in 34th place overall but gaining 28 points with her time of 19:31.6.
On the men’s side, head coach Ted Van Arsdale had runners finish 21st, 29th, 35th, 52nd and 55th for a team total of 192 points. Freshman Jesse Morrill was the top runner for the Tritons for the second week in a row. His time of 25:44.9 was the 21st best time on the day on the five mile course. Senior Dan Holligan was the next fastest Triton, finishing 30th overall but gaining 29 points with his time of 25:59.9.
Greg Geldman was the next Triton to cross the finish line, concluding the course in a time of 26:17.8 while teammate Matthew Noble crossed the finish line in a time of 27:21.9. John Yano rounded out the UCSD harriers who scored points in the meet, completing the five mile course in a time of 27:25.2.
