LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The UC San Diego women’s swimming and diving team traveled to take on UCLA in its second meet in as many days.In the 12 events, the Tritons were able to continue to work on their times, preparing for the PCSC Championships in February.With most of the events as relays, Jennifer Lappe placed second in both diving events and Susan Bell raced to a time of 4:42.75 in the 400 free.The Triton 200 medley relay team of Emily Harlan, Kendall Bohn, Karla Holman and Liz Whiteley notched a time of 2:09.76.UCSD was outscored by the DI Bruins 104-57.The Tritons are back in action on January 13 in Canyonview Pool against Loyola Marymount.The Senior Day meet will be the final collegiate competition on the La Jolla campus for the UCSD seniors.
The Triton 400 free relay team of Bell, Shannon Simonds, Aubrey Panis and Harlan finished second with a time of 4:08.86.In the 500 back relay, Simonds, Tori Edmiston, Bell and O’Neill finished second with a time of 6:21.63.
UCSD was swimming on less than 24 hours rest at the meet, having faced Utah and Wagner at the previous afternoon.
UCSD is back in action on Jan. 13 against LMU in Canyonview Pool.
