LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego women’s swimming team won 11-of-14 events against Loyola Marymount, defeating the Lions 163-99 on Saturday afternoon at Canyonview Pool. The Tritons finshed 1-2-3 in both the 200 back and 400 IM, with Susan Bell winning both events. Emily Harlan (50 and 100 free), Shannon Simonds (200 free and 500 free) and Kendall Bohn (100 breast and 200 breast) were also multiple winners. Andrea Lippin cruised to a win in the 1000 free, winning by over 15 seconds. Jennifer Sims won top honors in the 200 fly and the Triton 400 free relay team ended the afternoon with a win.
Lippin won the 1000 free with a time of 10:45.80.
Simonds won the 200 free in 1:56.43 and the 500 free in 5:10.38.
Bohn took top honors in the 100 breast (1:06.28) and the 200 breast (2:23.58).
Sims took the 200 fly at 2:06.76.
Harlan won the 50 free in 24.26 and the 100 free in 53.38.
In the 200 back, UCSD swept as Bell (2:08.27), Aubrey Panis (2:09.87) and Tori Edmiston (2:10.78) led the Triton sweep. In the 400 IM, Bell (4:32.24), Edmiston (4:41.97) and Lauren O’Neill (4:43.38) also swept.
UCSD is back in action against Howard and the University of San Diego on the USD campus. The meet is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
