LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego swimmer Susan Bell was named the Division II National Collegiate Female Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com for her efforts over the weekend in UCSD’s dual meet win over Loyola Marymount this past weekend.
The Tritons finished 1-2-3 in both the 200 back and 400 IM, with Bell winning both events. In the 200 back, UCSD swept as Bell (2:08.27), led the Triton sweep with a NCAA “B” qualifying time. Bell was victorious again in the 400 IM (4:32.24), this time turning in an NCAA automatic qualifying time.
Bell was the 2005-06 PCSC Swimmer of the Year and has earned All-America honors in each of her seasons at UCSD.
UCSD is back in action on Saturday, January 20 when it travels to the University of San Diego to take on USD and Howard. The meet is slated to begin at on the Torero campus.
