SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The UC San Diego men’s and women’s swimming teams went up against the University of San Diego and Howard University in a meet contested on the USD campus on Saturday afternoon. The Tritons did the majority of the scoring, with the men’s team defeating Howard 149-72, while the women’s team defeated USD 168-110 and beat Howard 204-50. The Triton teams won a total of 27-of-32 events on the day, winning everything but one event on the men’s side and four on the women’s side. Jennifer Sims bettered her ‘A’ cut in the 200 fly at 2:06.20 and should now be ranked No. 6 Nationally. Andrew Skewes qualified for the men’s team on the one-meter board.
On the women’s side, Emily Harlan won the sprint events, taking the 50 free in 24.40 and the 100 free in 53.65. Susan Bell doubled with wins in the 200 back and 200 IM. Kendall Bohn recorded wins in the 100 breast (1:07.77) and the 200 breast (2:24.60).
On the men’s side Dan Perdew won both sprint events, taking the 50 free and 100 free. Tim Fuller won the 200 free in 1:46.03, while Steven Hardy won both the 100 back and 200 back.
