UCSD Women Finish Third, Triton Men Finish Fifth at the NCAA Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. The UC San Diego men’s and women’s swimming teams completed the four-day National Championships in Buffalo, New York on Saturday evening.  The women’s 400 free relay team of Liz Whiteley, Shannon Simonds, Aubrey Panis and Emily Harlan finished second overall with a time of 3:28.31, giving the Triton women’s team a third-place national finish.  The Triton men’s 400 free relay wrapped up the NCAA’s with a third place finish, locking the Triton men into a fifth-place national finish.  Also scoring well for the Triton men on the final day was in the 100 free where Tim Fuller and Dan Perdew finished fourth and fifth, respectively.


Andrea Lippin finished eighth in the 1650 free with a time of 17:27.43.  Aubrey Panis took 12th in the 200 back at 2:07.21 and Kendall Bohn finished eighth in the 200 breast in 2:22.01.


On the men’s side,, Steven  Hardy finished 11th in the 200 back with a time of 1:52.43.  On the third place men’s 400 free relay team was Dan Perdew, Todd Langland, J.P. Oliver and Fuller with a time of 3:00.80.
