Rosanna Delurgio Qualifies for her second Olympic Trials

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. Rosanna Delurgio, former Triton swimmer and current assistant coach of the UC San Diego men’s and women’s swimming teams, finished sixth at the USA Swimming Spring Championships in East Meadow, New York.  Her finishing time of 1:12.08 qualified her for her second Olympic Trials.  Delurgio currently owns several UCSD school records including a time of 23.31 in the 50 free, a 50.56 in the 100 free and 200 breast time of 2:13.80, all set in the 2005 season.  In the 2003 season, Delurgio set a record of 1:01.88 in the 100 breast.  She is also part of all five Triton record holding relay teams.

 

Some of Delurgio’s numerous honors include an NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee for UCSD in 2005, a three-time UCSD Swimmer of the Year, three-time UCSD Athlete of the Year, eight-time National Champion in Division-II Swimming, an Academic All-American, 22 All-American awards and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship finalist.
