Former Triton All-American goalie Glenn Busch is in his 14th season as an assistant coach with the UC San Diego men's water polo program in 2019. Busch was previously an assistant coach with the Triton women's team for seven seasons.
Busch starred in the cage for head coach Denny Harper from 1997-2000. A first-team Division II All-American as a senior, he earned All-Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Second Team selection in 2000 and All-WWPA honorable mention in 1999. Busch made the crucial save to seal the upset 9-8 win over USC in the 2000 NCAA Championship semifinals, advancing UC San Diego to its first-ever national championship game appearance.
Before joining the Triton staff, Busch spent six seasons from 2001-06 at Torrey Pines High School as the boy's water polo junior varsity coach and varsity assistant coach. He helped the school reach three consecutive CIF San Diego Section Division I championship games.
Busch graduated from UC San Diego with a bachelor's degree in animal physiology and neuroscience. He then also obtained his master's in education sciences from UC San Diego.
