LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego women’s basketball team picked up an important win Friday night at RIMAC Arena over San Francisco State, 74-69, behind a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds from Erin Dautremont.

The Tritons now hold the fifth spot in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) alone at 11-8 in league play. UCSD improves to 14-9 overall. The Gators, who entered tied for fifth and were winners of two straight, now stand in a three-way tie for the final postseason slot at 10-9 in the CCAA and 14-11 overall.

Dautremont finished 10-of-16 from the floor en route to her game-high 22 points. She also added two assists to her fifth double-double of the year. The Tritons also received a career-high 16 points from Cassie MacLeod in the victory. The freshman forward finished six-of-11 from the field, both career highs, and added four rebounds and two assists to her line.

UCSD closed the half on a 10-6 run to lead 38-34 at the intermission.

The Tritons extended the lead in the second half and eventually earned their largest lead of the night at the 11:31 mark of nine points, 57-48. The Gators refused to lie down, however, and cut the UCSD lead to a pair 68-66 with 4:03 remaining.

After exchanging misses with the Tritons still up two, Miranda Seto put the finishing touches on the game with a difficult three as the shot clock expired to make the score 71-66. UCSD closed out the game in the final minute to win 74-69.
